Plot or Summary

  • CHITTI THE ROBOT is about Dr. Vasikaran (Rajinikanth) who succeeds, after putting in 20 years of hard work, in making a robot which can accomplish the work of a hundred human beings. Chitti, as the robot is called, looks exactly like Dr. Vasikaran.
  • Dr. Vasikaran is in love with Sana (Aishwarya Rai). Sana gets fond of her boyfriend’s creation, Chitti the robot. Dr. Bohra (Danny Denzongpa) also makes robots but, unlike Dr. Vasikaran, he wants to use the robots for carrying out acts of terrorism and destruction.
  • Since Chitti can follow instructions but doesn’t have a mind of its own, Dr. Vasikaran is prompted to make Chitti a thinking robot by making some alterations when a jealous Dr. Bohra rejects Chitti on the ground that it is not fool-proof. Soon, Chitti falls in love with Sana. But since Sana and Dr. Vasikaran are in love with one another and also because Chitti is a machine, Sana and Dr. Vasikaran tried to make Chitti see reasons. When Chitti fails to understand, Dr. Vasikaran has no option but to dismantle his own creation.
  • Dr. Bohra seizes the opportunity and reassembles Chitti but, to serve his ulterior motives and to teach Dr. Vasikaran, his student, a lesson, he puts an additional chip inside Chitti which makes Chitti evil.
  • Chitti kidnaps Sana from her wedding  before she can get married to Dr. Vasikaran. To avoid being caught, Chitti replicates himself so that there are scores of robots who look like him.
  • Dr. Vasikaran made himself look like Chitti to rescue and save Sana. He succeeded in entering the lion's den. He acted like one of Chitti's replica. He hatched a plan with Sana but then,  when Chitti assembles all of his replica and tried every tactics he could think to locate where is Dr. Vasikaran among Chitti. When he let all of his replica to turn its head 360 degrees, he was caught off guard and was found by Chitti.
  • But then Dr. Vasikaran, had still one card to play. He had already planned to shutdown the electricity of the whole city to stop Chitti. This plan somehow work because Chitti was somehow has to recharge cause he's getting lowbat but then Chitti has found his way to solve the problem.
  • Time comes when the military came to rescue Dr. Vasikaran and Sana inside of Chitti's place; Dr. Vasikaran grab the oppurtunity to escape from Chitti together with Sana. He hide from a van and do all his might to stop and shut down Chitti.
  • Chitti shows all of his amazing tactics and different formation to stop the military. Many died but they still continued to shut down Chitti by the help of Dr. Vasikaran. At the end of the day, Dr. Vasikaran succeeded in removing the evil chip from Chitti's system. Chitti was back to its old form and behavior.
  • Dr. Vasikaran was about to be imprisoned for inventing Chitti-the humanoid robot who became evil and had murdered too many civilians. But then, Chitti stood up and fight off Dr. Vasikaran's side and told the whole story that he got modified by Professor Bohra with supporting evidences. The court agreed and got persuaded by Chitti's words but they give a condition that Chitti must be dismantled because it is not time yet to use Chitti. Chitti dismantled himself and after how many years, he was put into a museum where he was displayed for being the first humanoid robot invented by Dr. Vasikaran.

Most catching Phrase in the Movie for me

"Vaseegaran creates me therefore God exist"

"You are my lord, but I disobeyed you."

Realization about the movie

My realization in this movie is that everything that is excessive are dangerous even if that something is made for good purposes , like in the movie "Robot" Chitti was made for a good purpose, it is supposed to be helpful and he was at first but then things got wrong because of bad people.

I realized that robot in the future can either "SAVE" or "DESTROY"

like also in the movie it is very scary when the time come that the robots that humans made will also think like us, because robots will not hesitate to "DESTROY" to "RECREATE"...so before that happen we should be more careful about what we make, and again everything that is excessive are dangerous ....

Technicalities

For me the movies technicalities are not that good, in fairness the movie has a good story and gives us good lessons...BUT ! the effects are bad, it is very obvious that the movie was low budgeted in term of effects, also I really hate it whenever the movie is doing some kind of a musical production...

Significance to A.I.

Would you recommend the Movie?

Yes, because of its story, values, and lessons we can get from it...that's it because honestly the effects and the musical interruptions are very disappointing

Importance of Robots

  • Industry has benefited drastically from the expanse of a robotic work force. Automated machines have taken over the duties of dangerous and mundane jobs from humans, allowing greater productivity. Because robots never tire, extra shifts have been added to factories.
  • Farmers have taken advantage of new technology with automated harvesters, the waste disposal industry has implemented robots in some of its dirtier jobs.
  • In medication, somehow in rich and high-tech country they had been using robots as one of their assistant in doing operations, theraphy, surgery at the hospital.
  • At school, many schools had evolved and embraced the evolution of high technology. Their teachers were already a programmable robots teaching students everything they have to know. It some countries, these became a trend and are really effective.
  • The military has launched various programs in robotic technology, most successfully the Predator and Reaper unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicles that allow a pilot to control the robot from vast distances. The vehicles can do high-altitude surveillance for long periods without having to support a live pilot, and when needed the planes can launch small strikes on targets in zones that normal aircraft cannot operate.

 Disadvantage of Robots

  • Jobs: In my opinion, the biggest issue with using robots is the huge loss of jobs for people. Basically, robots have eradicated a wide range of middle class jobs in several industries, such as car manufacturing.

  • Limited Functionality: Robots are very good at doing perfectly defined jobs, however robots typically do not handle the unexpected as well as people do.

  • Lack of Intelligence: Since robots are not intelligent or sentient, robots can never improve the results of their jobs outside of their predefined programming. In other words, robots do not think. At least, not yet.

  • Lack of Emotions or Conscience: Similarly, robots do not have emotions or conscience; therefore, robots lack empathy and all of the advantages that come with it. As a result, this limits how robots can help and interact with people.

  • Colonization: While robots can be sent to other planets and distance moons to help colonize them, they cannot build an independent functioning society.

  • Dangerous: Robots can be extremely dangerous. Whether robots are malfunctioning or designed for warfare, robots can be very hazardous to people.
  • Conclusion

All I can say is that nowadays the only difference between Robots and humans are "Emotions" we are human because we have emotions...nowadays it seems like all the things that a human can do, the Robots can do also not just do it but doing it better..so lets not be robotic mind that ignore conscience and human moral and ethics because the day we lost that we become robots and not human....
